For real though: it sounds like eerie sci-fi sound effects.

First thing that pops to mind are those old sci fi movies where the dude ends up on some god forsaken alien planet...and I wouldn't mind trying the doctor who theme on this hahaha

The arranger of the Doctor Who theme was a real musician, one of the most creative minds of the 20th century:

Sorry, nobody at Songbird is in that league.

David Ramos is a classically trained musician. I think he's got some credentials.

I wonder if this is because of the email I sent them about an hour ago??? I asked about why the fire opal wasn't in the options even though there was a picture. also mentioning that I would like to buy one.

Another sound sample of the Star Key. Here is the "Launching Sequence" by Durian Songbird himself.

I'm going to buy one to annoy my neighbors upstairs because they keep me up at night. How would this sound at 6am for a night person?

That thing would suddenly be real friendly with my neighbor's internal organs if that happened around me at 6 am. Does that answer your question? :P

Is it me, or does the ("Amazonian"?) outfit and eye-closing make this seem like a sort of cult? :3

The voice in the background sounds like the faked orgasm from "When Harry Met Sally". I used to have that as a user interface sound on my Mac.

Maybe they'll turn up for sale on banggood.com.

And I thought I was the only one who thought that, haha.
I heard "clapping" and a woman moaning.... Kids can interpret that however they like. :evillaugh:

Sounds like a winer whistle duet. Why would anyone want that thing?

When I first heard about the Star Key I thought it was an interesting concept.
On hearing it actually played...well, I'm not sure what state of conciousness it is supposed to be inducing but I think I prefer the one I've already got.

Maybe there is something about the live harmonics that doesn't transfer well to youtube (the lady in the clip certainly sounded like she was enjoying it). :(

I think my state would be to do violence against whoever was making that racket. Hopefully my more mature side would win out and I would just scream at them.

Dolphins! Of course! I knew there had to be something in this world the star key was designed for. :)

Were the Maya into dolphins?

I had a chance to hear it in person when David played it the weekend before last. It doesn't sound bad at all. I still wouldn't buy one though.

I would like to experiment with it for waking up in the morning. These days, I hit repeatedly hit snooze and sleep for 3 extra hours. Perhaps if I had one next to the alarm, I can pick it up and play the launch sequence to wake myself up, lol.

Has anyone actually been able to replicate something that sounds like music on a star key? (other than the sound samples itself?)

I think that songbird got confused between Amazonian technology and Peruvian technology when he made the StarKey.

And Yes Big C I totally agree with what you said as well. Even if the Starkey was something resembling an in tune musical instrument I still wouldn't buy it because of the new age claims he makes about it.
