Does the third chamber require a learning curve like the 2nd chamber did for the double? I remember thinking that my second chamber was broken, but now I think it sounds amazing. I plan on getting the Mappy triple soon so I'm just curious. |

I just got my Maparam triple today, and i've found the transition easy from the Focalink triple. The third chamber on the Maparam is actually much more clear than the second chamber, and with very little breath required. But how come you thought your double sounded broken? The Maparam double SF i have seems fine, is there a problem i'm unaware of? |

In my experience, and that of others I've heard from, the second chamber of the Maparam Double AC takes a bit more time to get sounding correct. I was having a particularly hard time getting the feel of mine. |

Hmm, i see what you mean. This may not mean much to your situation (seeing as i haven't owned the Maparam double), but i'd say the Maparam Triple's second chamber is fine and i don't think it has the problem you mentioned. The only aspect i have noticed is that the first note on the second chamber sounded a little raspy at first, however after reviewing my breathing, the raspiness has gone.

I think the issue with the Map DAC is squeak on the second chamber if you use too little breath. Also, for some of the alternate fingers for the higher notes, with the fingers covering the lower notes, you may get squeak with low breath pressure. It does takes some time to learn Kalasinar, does the second chamber of your triple squeak with low breath pressure? |

Nope, no squeak at all on the triple's second chamber, even when i decrease my breath ridiculously low. |

In my experience, the Maparam double's second chamber is more challenging to play than the triple's second chamber. But the result is a richer and sweeter sounding tone with the right breathing technique. I do recall the Double's second chamber feeling "raspy" at first. But it really does go away with improved technique - no joke. I could hardly believe it myself, but it does. One day you play, and the raspiness is gone *gasp* Try 'relaxing' your diaphragm a bit when exhaling. |
