Behold my Ocarina Club.

What: A monthly gathering to discuss, learn, and play the ocarina for everyone in the San Antonio area
When: Every Third Saturday of the month // 3pm-4:30pm
Where: Alamo Music Center (Downtown Location): 425 N. Main - San Antonio, TX 78205 (MAP)
RSVP on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=237886527069&ref=mf

I would like to introduce the very first US Ocarina Guild (working title)! This will be a group of ocarina makers, collectors, and performers to gather (at least) once a month and will provide a time and place to share playing techniques, oc making methods, and solo and ensemble performances! This meeting is the first of it's kind, so check back for info on how to get one started in your area!

If Walden is referring to what I think he's referring to, you better back off David. We have a poorly made website!

This would be fun to go to, but theres some reasons my closely located self won't be going anytime soon:

  • Most serious, I have a bad cold or deh flu! Its why I'm actually being active here . . . have to stay home all day.
  • Haven't really practiced Ocarinas in months . . .
  • And finally don't know if car will make it that far. xD

May go if it circles around to Texas again. :D

This is a monthly meeting AND you'll definitely want to start getting ready for a visit since we may end up having the 2010 Ocarina Festival here in July/August

Heck, I would definitely pay to see an ocarina battle between Doc and Walden! At least... $50 for entry, not including Beverages and Concessions, a good seat, a foam finger (probably not appropriate for this occasion, LOL), plus the infamous gift shop with ocarinas for sale. There's a chance that some Ocarina makers will come to not only see, but sell!!

Haha, talk about OcAwareness!

On a serious note, below is why STL is listed.

On a MUCH more serious note, it should be noted that our arrows will blot out the sun et cetera, but also: many ocarinas are clay, so if in a 1-on-1 battle with another ocarinist, break your oc to use as a weapon.

For my team, only

Tornadoes? When on earth did that ever become a TX stereotype? :?

I'm proud to be a Texan and I'm pretty darn sure it's the greatest and LARGEST state in the country! ...and no, I don't care how big they say Alaska is.

I've kind of always associated Texas with having a lot of tornadoes actually. I mean, it's in Tornado Alley.

Tornado Alley covers quite a bit of Texas, but it does seem to affect north Texas more. I've lived here my whole life, so I've had some pretty harrowing experiences over the years with some near misses with Texas twisters.

Also, the landscape is a bit dull (it's flat everywhere) and we don't get very a long Spring or Autumn. If I could trade states with anyone here, it would be Moonsyne. Oregon is really pretty, with it's forests and mountains. From what I've been told, Colorado sounds like it's made of win too.

*sigh* I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side...I'm sure shoveling snow gets old too!
