Old topic - closed. -speckles- Hey Guys, So I got a pendant oc for a couple friends for Christmas, and I got on here to find some sheet music they can use, and I realized that without looking at the actual sheets, it pretty much impossible to know if it fits in whatever oc's range. Some of the music lets you know, yes, but a lot of it doesn't. Anyway, I would be willing to go through all the music and check the ranges and then put next to the title the lowest ranged oc that can play it without transposing. For example: Always With Me [12AC] I'm pretty busy so it would take me a while, but I think in the end if would be a great help to everybody. If anybody in charge is willing to let me work on this, just let me know! Take it easy. xD EDIT: Can I get a response from one of the mods or whoever on this? I can't imagine a reason we wouldn't want to do it. Maybe I need to pm someone? Edited by speckles, May 15 2010, 10:33 AM.

Believe me, I would be more than willing to go and tidy up the sheets and tabs (half of it is requests and doubles posts), but you would need to be able to move threads, delete threads, and it would require a mod' to put a lot of time into it. I'm not sure if it's seen as a big enough problem to warrant organising some people to donate a few hours to do it, but I personally think it would be great to see those two sections sorted out. |

Yah maybe that's it...I've only been on TON for 7-8 months so they probly wouldn't want to give me the power necessary to do the job. I wonder if you can restrict access to only that forum? Ha idk...maybe I'll just do the work and then post it and then all a mod would have to do is go in and add it. |

I suppose you would have to think about whether it would be fair to say 'yes, you can have mod' powers to do this' to some, and to others say 'but Crowler, you'll just make TON a Panch and Ocarina Classica fansite' (which I totally wouldn't, but there might be some people youwould just have to turn down). I'd wait for someone who wants to do this to become a mod', and see if this thread has caught the attention of any current mod's. |

Or easily start a new thread titled 'Sheet Music' subtitled 'As Classified by Ocarina Range', and make it a series of links to the original threads or sheets, thus not requiring moderator status. |

I used to do this kinda thing when I was here, but obviously, I left and it seems like the sheetmusic section is kind of neglected. I dunno, I had a kind of standardised format of how the sheetmusic should be presented, but it seems like not many people folllowed it at all. Verstand's idea is great though. Lol duh...That's a great idea man, I can't believe I didn't think of it. Like I said it will take forever as busy as I am, but I think I'll make a project of it. Thanks for the suggestion! |

Yeah, I think you should go with Verstand's idea. It's similar to Steve's list topics. It would be nice to be able to have a topic that lists every sheet on TON even the ones in our pinned topics. And when new sheets are posted, we could also post in that topic and let you know that we have a new song to add to the list. |

Cool, from the looks of the votes and everyone's comments it sounds like a fair number of people will get use from this. Consider it a work in progress! I'll be sure to let everyone know when I've finished. |

Ah, I responded to your other post in Suggestions and Improvements. I'm not sure if I understood correctly, but you want to start another thread grouping all the music by different holes? But... you also want to generally clean the place up as well? And it's veggie! ![]() |

Just wondering, but will your project include music composed by members in the original music section?

When I post my sheetmusic, I like to highlight what ocarinas can play the songs I arrange into sheetmusic, and sometimes what ocarinas can play it with a transposed note or two. I also like to say I wrote it for a 12-hole AC (for example), but it can also be played on a Double AC, a Double SG, a 12-hole SC, etc. |
