Let me know what you find. I don't know of any doubles besides wood and clay, personally.

Hey, has anyone tried contacting these people about international orders? Or letting them know that there is a possibility of having a few more happy customers if they finish translating their site?

Browsing the Zin site again (wishing i could own a ceramic ocarina by them :( ) and i noticed this rather strange ocarina:

Unfortunately, even using google translate, i can't quite understand exactly what this is, except that it is specially designed for kids. Maybe it uses the plastic buttons to make it easier for children to fully cover the holes? I'm not entirely sure, but it looks cute and interesting!

The bottons seem to help to close the holes, I think. Young children could have to little fingers for closing alto ocarina holes. There could be a nice mechanism...

Behold my Ocarina Club.

It actually looks like one of those chew toys for infants. I guess it's never too early to get your kids hooked on ocarinas :D

there is always time for a song

Ok, I just had a read.

It's a valve-operated ocarina directed at infants.
It's an operational instrument that plays low C to high E, also capable of sharps and flats.

The design aims to make the ocarina easier to play for young children. It is easier to close those valves than close holes with fingers. So when they play notes, there is less of a risk they'd had improperly closed holes leaking air. Even when the child plays random notes on it, there is a better likelihood of sounding better than with an ocarina with just holes, since it has 'buttons' to press.

Other than that, the info says, lightweight, passed the hazards test for safe materials, comes with soft-case, instructions and neck strap, breath gradient is designed for young learners (so easy to play all the notes).

I would actually order this ocarina (if they were international) just to experience it. But i would probably end up passing it down to my sister.
