I'm sure there is an easy way to filter them. I'll try and see what can be done about it.

Some you can delete right away >.< if the username is something like getviagracheap or something I'm pretty sure it's not someone's personal account ^^

I do not agree with this. People may want to come back if they have been gone for a long time. If they then came to find their account has been deleted it would be bad.

I agree with Rintintin. Besides, how would we determine what is a 'long time'? One month? Half a year? Two weeks? Mmrph. I like the deleting those who have never posted idea though.

We honestly do not need more than a once a year spring cleaning of 'new' accounts with no posts - over 6 months old. Anything beyond that is just busy work for the staff.

It's not like we are site with millions of users that might want or need usernames.

Is it that much work to delete an account? No simple delete button or anything?

It's just that the forum is only 2 months old and we already have a couple of hundred spam and dead accounts......I'd be happy to see them gone. Imagine what it's gonna be like in a year's time! :/ Tidies the place up a bit, and like Moonsyne said- and 'honest' count of active members.

Maybe only do accounts that haven't tried posting in at least a month or so... That way you give people a fair chance to post, but don't have to wait too long to be rid of spam accounts...

I like to hear what people are talking about on the forums, but am not always thinking I should interject. I like old flutes, and usually wait for the right topic to say anything, I have no interest in zelda music, replicas etc. so I don't say anything because my opinions are that zelda replicas are the worst thing that ever happened to the ocarina. See why I might not want to say that? I'm sure I made 50 enemies with that statement alone. There are other old farts on here that are on once a month or so just to go over the messages all at one time, so all I can say is be careful who you delete so no feelings are hurt. Not everybody has computer access 24/7 like a lot of the regular posters. I understand wanting to get rid of spambots though. Just my 2 cents.

Of course we will not delete those members that are not as active. The only members that can be considered for deletion are those that have not made their first post in the introduction forum (which is necessary to see the rest of the forum) for several months, as well as those members with obvious spambot-names. But in my opinion, we don't need to delete any members at all. Not yet anyway.

I believe that this forum was created as a place where people could express their opinion on everything ocarina. Most who is on here on a regular basis is very accepting about people having different opinions. I really disagree with you, but that's because I have another viewpoint and history with the ocarina. But that's what makes this community a great one. Different opinions makes for good debates, and growth.

50 enemies? Hardly. :TON:

Well, glad to see your not offended. The fifty enemies thing was just to get the idea accross, check out Mose Tapiero if you have not. That why I play, he was the best ever, his recordings are from about 100 years ago. He played so fast and well that it actually seems like he really was manipulating time.

Obviously people who are online and active in whatever way shouldn't be deleted. And I think you'll find that while a lot of people came to know ocarinas because of Zelda they have come to love the ocarina as an instrument in and of its own, and they love if they don't look like the zelda ones. Otherwise, wouldn't people only be buying zelda replicas? I think Zelda did something great for getting the instrument known globally, though sadly a lot of people now think it should stay in the video games. I still think that getting people in touch with the instrument is a good thing, even if you make a couple of enemies for it :)

I think it's much better to have a couple dozen active members than a couple hundred people who never post. When I joined here i planned to just read the tabs and sheetmusic, and never post, but then I had to post in the introduce yourself thread. Because of that Kissing convinced me to get a Focalink instead of an STL. Because of that I spent some time checking out the site and realized how close everyone is and how helpful they can be. It's not often I find a forum where it's worth getting to know people, but TON is definitely one. The people who sign up and never post are really missing out, and I'm really glad that it was mandatory for me to post.

I'm agree with Elfgrin.
I have singed up in a lot of forums but never posted because I couldn't find any interesting thread, or just because I wasn't friends with anyone there... But here, as Elfgrin stated, you miss out a lot if you don't, at least, post on The Introduce Yourself Thread...

Sometimes people don't post because... for example, I find an interesting topic in which I'd like to post.... you do so and after a few minutes you get a repply saying - Don't revive old topics- ..... :|

I also like Moonsyne's idea of doing a clean up every half a year or a year, but only the people who haven't posted in the Introduce Yourself thread for a great ammount of time.

ok brother from another mother?

Well, I personally feel it's a bit pushing it if we add a one or two liner to a month old topic. Then it gets bumped, people are click on it and find it's nothing more than another agreeing opinion or something like that.

I think reviving should be okay if someone has something new to ad, that's worth reading. but i agree if it's just like a one liner it gets pretty annoying.^

That's okay of course.
Adding new and/or important information is permitted.

But posts like "I agree" 5 or 6 weeks later is really annoying. XD
