Hmm, reading Moonsyne's post in the moderation thread made me think, should I be breaking down my story in separate posts somehow? I feel like the dates do a good job of breaking it up, and didn't want people hunting through 10 thousand pages to find the next installment. What do you guys think? Sorry to raise your hopes with a non update post, but there'll be some tomorrow! |

I like it how it is. The dates do a good job and it is nice to see the story not scattered across pages of posts. I like how it is all in one place. I really like the story so far. I can't wait to read the next part! |

I think if you broke it up then people would be browsing way too much to find the right posts... I was thinking of doing mine in my blog, that way you can have a separate blog part for every separate thing you post :) |

Oh, that's not good. I hope you didn't lose anything you wanted to post. If you need a place on the forum to store text for later, you can try the notepad in preferences/user controls. I'm not sure how big that is though. |

^ Hmmm, alright. I'll start the next bit on this post and then link it to my first post. 6/21/2008 Ailur was pushed into a great lecture hall. She looked around in confusion, it was filled with tons and tons of desks and had tons and tons of people. "Er... where's the battlefield?" "You're looking at it," Ontaer said as he dropped into a seat. "Whaaaat? This looks more like an exam room than a battlefield! Do we have to take some preliminary test or something before we fight the gym leader?" "Nope," He took our some pencils. "At Veridan's gym, the exam is the battle. That's why I said the two of us were here to get our badges, I remember you telling me about all the music theory you learned as a kid." Ailur sputtered. "But that, that was ages ago! I don't remember half of it!" Ontaer looked at her, "Nahh you'll be fine. Have some more faith in yourself!" Any further discussion was cut off as a brass alarm rang near the front of the room. Immediately, the hall full of laughing, talking and some studying players settled down and an air of expectancy filled the room. Ailur took her seat but kept whipping her head around and around, feeling very disoriented. A gym where they handed out badges based on an exam?? She had never heard of such a thing! A man dressed in a black Armani suit came out of a door near the front and immediately everyone became very nervous. Ailur studied him curiously, he looked to be in his 30s, somewhat overdressed but otherwise completely harmless. "That's definitely someone from Sapheer city (note: Pokemon's Saffron city)," Ontaer whispered to her. "You can always tell someone's from Sapheer if they dress very fashionably. He must be here learning from gym leader Roxa (note: Pokemon's gym leader Roxanne). She's the ultimate authority on music theory in Ilar. Only the best are invited to study with her." Suitably impressed, Ailur looked back at the man with new eyes. Sapheer city eh? She vaguely recalled it was a huge metropolitan city. Maybe she'd make her way there someday, a city that huge must have a gym. The man started making his way down the aisles, leaning over to whisper something in each person's ear. Sometimes that person would get up immediately and leave, other times they would whisper something back and leave in a huff when the man shook his head. At first it was a trickle of players leaving, then a flood. Only one out of every 10 people would remain sitting after the man had passed him. When he reached Ontaer, Ailur tensed in nervousness. She needn't have worried, he grinned and confidently whispered something back. Ontaer remained sitting. As more people left, Ailur could hear some whispering to each other. "A year of studying.. and that's it?!" "...A major... no C major! I was right! I absolutely knew it!" "I'm never gonna get Veridan's badge..." When the man reached Ailur, he leaned down. "What major has one flat?" She looked at him in disbelief, this was so blippin' easy! Which idiot thought it was C major? "F major." "That is correct, please remain sitting." As he moved on, Ailur looked at Ontaer. "Is this it? That's it?!" She hissed. "Nope, that was just the preliminary test, now comes the hard part, the three hour long exam." Ontaer looked worried, now that couldn't be a good sign. All of a sudden the future seemed less bright. |

Or maybe post the story on your blog? That way people can comment (I think) on seperate parts and you can post it without it being hard to find! |

And just to be sure, for the first half day or so after an update, I'll have Updated! in red next to the last update date. By the way, it's been updated!  [edit] I'll keep switching updated colors to let people know when a new update has taken place, since I'm updating everyday right now. Alright. About my story, I'm opening it up to name suggestions. I've got names in place for major characters and cities, but I need names for gym leaders, people they meet, etc. Feel free to suggest your username, but please try to phrase it so it sounds like the naming scheme I have in my story. I can't have my next gym leader be.. Pandaman, for instance. Also, can someone help think of a good story-fied Team Rocket name? |
