I got an ocarina a few years ago, but now I finally have a reason to use it. My friend and I are going to sing/play music at our school on friday afternoons and possibly have a donation jar for different charities |

Hi. Ok, since I first played one of the Zelda games, "A Link to the past" I was imagining myself with his flute, playing the melodies. But only two years ago I found out that the flute really existed, and the biggest dream was to come true for me. Two months ago I had saved enough money to buy a 12 hole ocarina from stlocarina, and I was sold. I'm buying a soprano pendant and a double/triple ocarina soon. Anyway, I'm from Denmark, I'm a 19-year old girl and err.. want to be an ocarina master! |

Well, a bit about myself. I'm first and foremost a gamer, but i can proudly say my interest in the ocarina peaked before "Ocarina of Time" came out(though a great game, no doubt there)... and I was perusing ebay and found a clay 11 hole for sale for $10. so i couldn't turn it down, anyways I ordered it, and I find myself now perusing the net looking for some kind fingering chart, or notation chart, something to get me up and running on it... and I've had the hardest time finding a "fingering chart" for an 11 hole Ocarina. Anyways, "H4ck" for short. oh ya, it's a sweet potato single chamber.

Hello, everyone! I'm from the Ocarinas United forum, and I wanted to gain access to more Ocarina resources. So, here I am. I got into Ocarinas when I saw them in the N64 Legend of Zelda games on the Collector's Edition Disc for the Gamecube (an unoriginal late bloomer, wow). I like any music that pleases my ears, and a lot of video game music fits that role. The Zelda series filled it very well. Well, anyway, I'm a /v/idya gamer that likes music. I like to think of myself as not becoming part of the "weeaboo" crowd, though. I like things that I like because they please me, not because they please others. Oh, and besides Ocarinas and the /v/idya, I like firearms. I am a strong advocate of private firearm ownership for the protection of life and the practice of sport. I like firearms because they are elegant machines that work well and equalize humans in terms of power. A trained, skinny man can best an untrained muscle-head. You can replace "skinny man" and "muscle-head" with whatever you want. I like my military surplus arms best, though. Military history is one of the most fascinating academic subjects I know of. I own 2 Russian Mosin Nagant rifles, one of which certainly aided in the defending of the Motherland from fascists. Well, there I am. I hope I'm not too "conservative/libertarian" for you, but that is just the way I am. I believe in life, liberty, etc. My opinion, like everyone else's, should be taken with molecular grains of salt, because we all know that the internet is serious is business. Stay cool everyone, and may your shots always stay in the X ring. |

Hey everybody. I decided to join because I have an ocarina but never attempted to play it. Now it is summer time and would like to learn to play an instrument so I'll start with the coolest one I have. I can't wait to get good at this. |

Yo! I just so happened to stumble upon here from a youtube link, figured i'd check it out. I play the great fairy's sweet potato style ocarina. Very Legend of Zelda. Even though I never liked OOT, I loved the windwaker... and you can play that music on the ocarina.

I'm Rae, 18, from the USA. I found the ocarina the same way a lot of other people did; through the Zelda series. I always loved wind instruments, but I had a hard time playing the flute. (I was and still am pretty scrawny; whipping up enough air to supply for a flute was very difficult!) I fell in
love with the ocarina's sound, finding it much more appealing than a flute. When I saw an ad in Nintendo Power for real ocarinas, I bought one. I lost interest in it, but after seeing docjazz4's videos on youtube, I've fallen in
love with the ocarina all over again. I hope to eventually move on to a 12 hole, then a double, and even *gasp* a triple. Eventually. Not now. XD Few years. I also love reading, movies, singing, dance (especially ballet), all kinds of music, and pretty much anything that comes from Japan. |
