I'm waiting a bit before I post my collection. I still have 4 Anita Feng ocarinas being abused by the customs! And I've ordered the Maparam Double AC. When all of those arrive I think I'll snap a photo.

I just air-dried it
 It's not really an ocarina, and I really don't have any hopes of making a playable ocarina any time soon :XD: I'm very happy with buying ocarinas  The peruvian is indeed tiny. It does have 6 tiny tiny holes, but its very impractical to play notes on it. It does make a nice loud whistle when you blow into it. It caught my eye in a souvenir shop. The bigger one does play a few notes, and does make a sound... but I never play it - wall decoration. In fact, the only one I play songs on out of that pile is the Focalink. The rest usually hang on the wall. The WPN Soprano C is quite nice, but its broken (repaired with glue..some notes out of tune now), and I have two other Soprano C's, so I'm happy to let it hang there looking pretty. |

Whoa! Myung, how many ocarinas did you order from focalink? You just about tripled your collection xD They look awesome though! I'd really love an alto c double or triple. I just love the lower mellow tones ^^ Does anyone know if they're a bass double or triple anywhere? That'd be great for tenor/alto lovers like me! Here's a pic of my collection: Spoiler: click to toggle (The pic's a little blurry I know) From the top, going clockwise: My STL 12 hole WPN tenor C, my STL 6 hole plastic soprano C, my 2 hole disney ocarina (got it when I was 3 or something xD), my 8 hole peruvian ocarina form Peru (looks awesome, especially the shape, but doesn't sound very good), and my latest addition, my Llamacarina from the dutch "wereldwinkel" that my gf found by pure coincidence. It's a 6 hole peruvian style, sounds horrible, and you blow up his a*s*s. |

I know, it's my condor ocarina
if I ever get a chance to make an oc of my own I wanna make one shaped like that, but with normal 10/12 hole fingering
Also maybe an axe shaped ocarina (double headed axe). That might look cool...On the bottom it also has 2 little "legs", which keep i balance when it's laying down and mean you can stand it upright to showcase it! so perfect! |

Yes, if you look at Focalink's website, there are lower tuned Double ocarinas, including the Alto G double and the Bass C double. These are pitched lower than Alto Chttp://www.focalink.com.tw/product_en.php (scroll to around the bottom). In fact, I'm interested in their Double Alto G - it's the perfect ocarina to play Zelda's Lullaby in since the original Key of Zelda's Lullaby is in G and in the OoT Hyrule Symphany soundtrack, Zelda's lullaby was played using an Alto G Double of some sort (basing it on the range it played listening). Awesome The original maker who made several different kinds of Doubles and Triples is Icarus of Japan, but they are hard to get your hands on, since they only seem to sell to musicians the maker acknowledges  I haven't found them actually being sold anywhere  |

Awesome! i'll definitely look take a look at those... I just
love the lower sounds ^^ The only bad thing about my tenor is that it gets airy on the high notes which, sadly, is quite soon.... Whoa, the bass double costs as much as the alto triple! But it says the both play from A to some higher note. Would I be correct in deriving from this that they both start at the same note? If so, why wouldn't you just get the triple, if it costs as much and can play the same notes + more? ModEdit: Please use the Edit button. There is no need to double post. |

Nope, the bass (I believe) starts one octave lower. It'll sound lower overall because of that. A triple alto C extends from a typical alto range to a soprano c and upwards to a soprano G range (I believe? I'm trying to display my knowledge here and hope I'm not wrong! ><"). A triple has the difficulty of having more holes to cover, one more chamber to shift over, and least tone quality when compared to a double and single. It all depends on if you want range and a higher pitched ocarina than a more tone quality and lower pitched ocarina. |

A Triple Alto C does not cover the range of the Double Bass C. The Double Bass C is tuned lower But they play in the same key (in C).We gotta remember that the names "Alto C, Soprano G" etc only apply to ocarinas. Haven't seen other instruments named in the exact same way, since ocarinas are unique in their range and diversity. Another important thing is that the ranges also overlap. Alto C's middle to highest notes are Soprano G's lower notes. Soprano G's middle to highest notes are Soprano C's low/middle notes. Alto C's very highest notes are Soprano C's very lowest notes. Like here: Spoiler: click to toggle

I'd really love to get a bass but it's just so damn expensive! I don't think I wanna spend that much on an ocarina... That's more than I spent on my guitar! I'd love to hear some songs played on it though... I wonder what it sounds like ^^ |

Oh dear the value, I kinda don't wanna know. But perhaps it will be a good shock and awe for myself XD. I am not allowed to buy new ocarinas for the next 6 months atleast!!! (by myself lol) Okay let's see. The values , from the top of my head: Spencer AC: $450,- Maparam dbl AC: $218,- Focalink dbl SG: $85,- Focalink set of 4 pendants: $54,- Focalink SC: $24,- Focalink mini: $24,- Focalink turtle, banana: $8,- (4 each) Songbird XL: $59.99 Songbird Wishbone: $29.99 TNG Enigma: $74.99 Hind SD: $39,- *grabs calculator* *gulp* $1066.97 And I actually have another focalink package on the way, which shall be my last ocarina purchase in a good while. I really need to save some money T_T I started to spend some of my savings even :scared: |

), but it is quite a loud ocarina, designed for outdoor performances (Hao Lun Hsu does a lot of this).
