I own a Woodsound Alto C ocarina, and it is a charming instrument! It is made of wood, so it doesn't break. The sound is magnificiently clear and mellow! You can find them sold internationally on the bottom of Maparam's page: http://www.maparam.kr/index.html?modea=eng Some samples: Alto C http://youtube.com/watch?v=u2kCjgpKJnw http://www.maparam.kr/data/community/Onara...ound_Alto_C.mp3 http://youtube.com/watch?v=7cZNwRS9P_A Soprano G http://youtube.com/watch?v=xyCEFDVZ-lw Soprano C http://youtube.com/watch?v=7rUMRg-56BQ They do cost more than the regular ocarina. The recent price increase is due to the rising price of fine woods these days But they really are premium ocarinas made of high quality wood. Their popularity has spread to ocarinists around the world, including Italy and Japan! |

Perhaps you (or I guess I) should add the direct link to the Woodsound site because it offers significantly lower prices than Maparam re-sells the Woodsound ocarinas? I ordered my Woodsound on Monday through Maparam, but didn't realize when I did so that I could have saved money by ordering direct. It is too late for me, but others might appreciate the less expensive option... http://www.woodenocarina.com/order.html Edited by hugolino, Nov 12 2008, 03:28 PM.

when I checked between both sites woodsound ocarinas was the same price. to "for worldwide buyer" link and it gives the price in USD which is the same as the Maparam prices, execpt if you get the set that is(which maparam doesn't offer) prices
Since I don't plan on getting a ocarina in they key of G if I ever get the money I would just get an Alto-C and soprano-C =$620+30$ USD (or $650)... dang that is equal to $815 Canadian, guess I'm not getting that soon (unless of course the value of the Canadian dollar magicly skyrocketed to 6 times the american dollar... which is unlikely to say the least)edit: changed "for world buyer" to "for worldwide buyer" because that's what it says on the site, I just forgot the "wide"

Hmmm... I didn't see a "for world buyer link" when I checked the site, so I just converted the prices I found into U.S. dollars using a currency exchange Web site. When I did that it seemed the prices were cheaper than at Maparam's site.... but I guess I was mistaken or overlooked the proper link for overseas buyers. My apologies.
