There are some pretty bizare ocarina designs out there!
Here's the place to share them.

*Old Glory's novel Jugarina
*Cracker Jack prize
*Harmonicord is not an ocarina at all!

Those ones on the left must be tough to play.

...I want a deep, rumbling bass ocarina but that's going a little too far. A head sized ocarina is ridiculous. Also how brilliant would it be to pull an ocarina out of a cracker jack box? Though I have very little hope that prize continued it's existence into my lifetime.

O_O For a second I thought I was looking at percussion instruments from a rare culture.

Oh my.... I'd love one of those.

You know, just playing on the smallest one of those ocarinas, then someone tells you to "take things up a notch" (or down, as it might be in this case). You just smirk at them and pull up the biggest one out of some bag. Imagine the looks on peoples faces: :omg:

And the ocarina player besides you: :music:

Hahaha, and if they still want to trash talk you, you could always bonk them over the head with the biggest one.. :P. Though their thick skulls would probably break it.

I'd like this one, it looks tunable, because of the thing on the end, but the holes are backwards. o.o

Poor excuse for an ocarina-player.
The maker is a member of TON... Yuri. Everything is backward in New Zealand. (-: Because they're Down Under!

Yeah. Yuri has some pretty cool flutes at his website.

I think the carved one looks even more unique and weird.

Oh dear god... I've found a very funny ocarina. I can't remember where I found it, but it's like $45 for a very creepy ocarina. (I submitted it to failblog.org, incase you were wondering about the captions.)

Looks like a Whistleworks pendant.
They are notably silly.

Yes, that is one of John Barry's ocs. You can tell by the eyes - they all have that same style. :giggle:

I guess you'd just have to keep reminding yourself that it's just the pigs tail that your blowing into, that's all, just a tail... Their ocs are interesting. I like them because they seem to be the only place to get ocs shaped like animals, which would be great for kids but I heard they weren't answering their phone and stuff and you couldn't buy from them anymore, but maybe they're back or something.

Blowing into the tail end is common in sculptural ocs - it is often the best place to put the mouthpiece and sound/voice hole without ruining the sculpture itself. There are some that get around blowing into the rear end, though:

Cool, I'd much rather blow into a cats front paws than a pigs err tail... :paranoid: I'm not a huge fan of sculptural ocs but I like that they're around. I think it helps keep the ocarina from becoming completely normal.

She's stopped making ocs, :( and is selling out her remaining stock. She still might have one of those still available, though. LINK
