Don't worry, he's still very much interested in ocarinas!
*phew* I've been hearing so many great things about Spencer's ocarinas that reading this was making think I might have missed out for good. Here's hoping that the store is up and running soon. I'm not too keen on the zelda replicas so hopefully he will have a standard model available for direct purchase rather than ebay.
He had non-Zelda ocarinas for direct purchase before, so he'll most likely be selling those again.

My Spencer ocarina is a standard Alto C, as I didn't care to have a Zelda replica, either.

I want a Spencer, but I don't want a Zelda replica. It's just... the ocarina is too well-associated with Zelda already. It's propogating a video game nerd stereotype with the instrument.

"The ocarina? Oh you mean that thingie from that game?"

Hey everyone! I just called Spencer and he's alive and well! ^^
He told me he's revamped his ocarina design, and has been making new molds as well as recording CDs. Busy busy busy. He says ocarinas should be available in January, if not December! I personally cannot WAIT to start bidding. =D

His email client has apparantly been giving him trouble, so that explains why he seldom answers emails, too.

So he'll just be selling again on ebay in Dec/Jan? I thought he was opening a store on the internet.

I wish he would be more active on TON. Well just a little more since he is busy. He should post a topic about any new information that everyone is waiting for on this topic.

Just curious, how much do his ocarina's usually go for? Myung, I know you have one, how much did you fork out for your replica?

I don't know if you're specifically asking about his replicas or not, but I purchased my non-replica Alto C for about.....hmmmm, $70 or $80, I think? It's been such a long time that I can't even remember the exact cost anymore.

From my observations, his replicas have been known to vary anywhere from $200 to $500 (usually more at the higher end, though), depending on how the auction goes.

$200-$500 is crazy. I'd rather buy a triple ocarina then pay for that. I guess it has collector value.

Wow, yeah, maybe we should ask him why he took it down. Maybe something flawed on it, like the glaze cracked or something, same with Ms. Dunster's Hello Kitty ocarina that Myung was tryna get.

My Spencer cost me 450 USD excl. shipping. Thankfully the dollar/euro ratio was pretty good a few months ago. So it was about 300-350 euros incl. shipping/customs etc. Too bad the dollar has gone up in price T_T Means expensive ocs and other imports for me T_T

Wow that's an awful lot of money. Is it worth it or would you rather have bought a hind tenor sweet potato or something instead?

I think it was certainly worth it. Though perhaps I would have fancied one of his regular models even more than his Zelda replica. His ocarinas are so aesthetically pleasing. Ofcourse for that money you can also buy a Hind sweet pote or the entire set of wallnuts. But I don't regret buying it at all. Damn you USD, please just get a little cheaper again T_T I want to buy more ocarinas!!! :shakefist:

When he gets his site up (hopefully very soon) I will buy one. I can't see myself paying $500 for an ocarina on ebay.
