I never had the experience of hearing what a Spencer Ocarina sounds like but by the looks of it, everyone is literally praying for his site to come up.

I heard (and seen pictures of) that his ocarinas are really good.

I wonder if he will be making pendants and what they will be like. I seem to remember a picture of Spencer pendant...but will he be making them again? And what will the range be? I sooo want a decent pendant. (I would get a songbird, but I find I have trouble holding onto them... :( )

He has made pendants in the past. They were lovely. The range was the same as a regular English 6 hole. I hope that he sells matching sets (One pendant one sweet potato).

Ooh matching sets, that is just an awesome idea!
I'm also looking forward to his pendants, I've seen a couple of pictures of them.
Needless to say they look GORGEOUS!
And judging by my alto C, Spencer ocs sound even better than they look!

I want one :pendant:

Poor excuse for an ocarina-player.
I had a Spencer alto ocarina a few years ago. It played quite beautifully, but it was heavy and didn't have a cord, and so it broke. It's my understanding that his new ones will be made to have a cord, to help keep this from happening.

I have an alto C (not the Zelda replica) that I bought from Spencer about 2 years ago, and I love it! It sounds wonderful.

I'm looking forward to purchasing more ocarinas from him, as soon as he's in business again! He is an extremely talented young man.

It's very quiet on the Spencer front.
No new auctions on eBay, no Website up yet. :(
I'm starting to get a little worried actually...>_<

I'm not worried - he'll be vack. After all, he has to design his website AND make A LOT of ocarinas to be ready for the rush when he does open for business. He has to make a bunch of ocs in each of the keys he plans to carry in order to to be able to prcess online orders quickly. :D

Well I hope everything is alright, you never know what may happen.
I do understand he must be quite busy, and I recall him saying he was also recording and developing new models and keys.
I wonder if he will be able to keep up with the demand once his online store opens.

I suspect that Spencer will be selling to Japan and Europe on a regular basis.

I think the Zelda replica will stay an eBay exclusive.
Little chance of that one being sold for a fixed price imo.

Does anyone know the price range that the spencer ocarinas have been in the past?
In mid 2004 the price of an alto C Spencer ocarina was $75 plus $5.95 shipping.

Tenors were $85, sopranos were $55, and pendants were $27 when he was selling his "non-Zelda" ocs on eBay.

yeah, I've been wanting on of these bad boys for over a year now.
Im afraid that possibly he has just gone away from the ocarianas, rather than making a bunch for when it opens..

I do believe that Spencer is waiting for his patents.

Ooooh, that would make sense (and is a good idea) although he'd have to have some pretty specific details to get a patent on an instrument like an ocarina approved. They need to have some similarity as far as how they work goes. Then again, it may be more colors and other things of the aesthetic nature.

*phew* I've been hearing so many great things about Spencer's ocarinas that reading this was making think I might have missed out for good. Here's hoping that the store is up and running soon. I'm not too keen on the zelda replicas so hopefully he will have a standard model available for direct purchase rather than ebay.
