I revived it because I didn't want to and made a new one, but Moonsyne told me to post in this one. ;)

I like Pink Floyd, Rush and I'm a little surprised no ones's mentioned it but Led Zeppelin! d(-_-)b I also like the celtic music by Tinwhistler on youtube but that's the only celtic stuff I've listened to. I also obviously like the ocarina but I prefer just to play it and don't really listen to any ocarina music and I can't stand rap or heavy metal.

I like all kinds of rock, from Beatles to Tenacious D, and some metal :D. Favourite band = DragonForce of course :D

But I'm not just stuck to that, some others types are good at times :), rock and stuff is just my main though.

Tacos and Ninjas rule, hence the name.
RAMMSTEIN! Sorry if I scared anyone with that, but they kick ass, some (most) of their stuff can be really dark though. Other than that, Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkle, Dio, Pendulum, a bunch of random songs I can't be bothered to mention, Animé music and of course video game music.
I lost my respect for Dragonforce when I heard them live. :dead:

I like all kinds, but I really enjoy folk music. Recently I've been really into Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, The Smiths. Also electronica stuff like Owl City, nevershoutnever!, nickasaur!, Rockets & Radios, Metro Station.

I really like indie stuff. I like rock like The Beatles.

I love Weezer, Motion City Soundtrack, and Paramore are my three favorites.

Edit: I forgot to mention Japanese music!! gosh im silly. well i love japanese pop, rock, techno. anything really. but I love Tommy february6/heavenly6, perfume, and the pillows. just to name a few.

Actually, I've been spending a lot more time playing tin whistle, which I became interested in at the same time as ocarina. I've acquired a few whistles and have been immersing myself in ITM (irish traditional music). In fact, here's a quick video of me mangling Cooley's reel on a G whistle: Cooley's

Simple instruments appeal to me, hence tin whistle and ocarina. The whistle is a diatonic instrument, so in one sense it's limited, but in another it's specialized. ITM is (mostly) meant to be played over and over, with lots of ornamentation and variation, with steady, even driving rhythm. The whistle works perfectly for that, and it's amazingly challenging to get a good sound--and I have a long way to go.

The ocarina is a chromatic instrument, but obviously more limited in range (except for the doubles and triples). But it can be very expressive, and seems well suited to airs and ballads. The ocarina is also more expensive. You can get a decent tin whistle for $10-$20 (although you can also spend hundreds on one); you can't really get a decent ocarina for that.

As for listening, well, I've been around a while and I've listened to just about everything you can think of. I love the old dixie/ragtime soprano sax music of Sidney Bechet, and of course the classic rock of my youth. I listen to a lot of classical music, especially Bach, and also jazz, and so on.

My group of artists that I listen to are fairly random. Some's mainstream, some's Japanese, some used to be popular but now you'd be looked down upon for listening to them.

1) Evanescence ((Will always be my favorite band.))
2) AFI
3) Panic! At the Disco
4) Gackt
5) Utada Hikaru
6) Danny Elfman ((Soundtracks to Tim Burton's movies, more specifically.))
7) Uematsu Nobuo ((Anyone that can come up with One Winged Angel HAS to rock.))
8) Sweetbox
9) Tatu
10) ((Whoever did the pokemon music; I mean the instrumentals, like Lugia's Song and Tears of Life.))
Ect...ect...

I'm definitely a fan of instrumentals and just classical music in general. I like Tchaikovsky, John Williams, George Gershwin, Vivaldi, Beethoven, and a billion others.
And also, I love metal and rock :P
