The wishbone "ocarina" is based on the Twilight Princess plant the Link uses to call upon Epona, the horse. I have an extended range sweet potato. It is very fun to play. |

I heard that it's quite limited and you can only play very few songs on it. But from what I've heard, it's fun to just jam on it! =D |

Here's couple Youtube videos of Wishbone flute. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfMbMxiQvrk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMSo2MNFuzk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aTRoXD-OmA Notice that it doesn't use the english style fingering system. I read that it has less range than normal 4-hole pendants. |

Here's some pics of the Wishbone flute, it is very high pitched and has a very limited range. It's nice to look at, but not really much fun to play. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g172/Myu...na/IMG_0856.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g172/Myu...na/IMG_0857.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g172/Myu...a/IMG_0858s.jpg |

I wonder if Darryn Songbird could make a tuned Wishbone whistle flute if he wanted to. |

Me too, that would be cool. He could just make a bigger one to add holes for a wider range. Or even make it a closed vessel, cause this one is open ended. I would love to see Mr. Hind make a wishbone flute out of wood though. That would be the awesomeness imo. He does custom orders, but it'll cost big bucks. Who knows I might win the lottery XD |

So, it is basically a 4 hole pendant with that range and fingerings? |

Well it is a 4 hole flute, but all the holes are the same size. I don't know the exact range of this flute. But I don't think it equals that of an english style 4 hole. |

Sorry for the double post but no one has posted in this thread in a long time so I think its acceptable. Darryn Songbird has put new ocarinas up on his site since the last time I had been there. He calls them sculpted ocarinas and they are basically sculpture art and an instrument. You can check them out at His website, they are in the bottom right on his menu. They look great, I wonder how they sound? |

Poor excuse for an ocarina-player.

I'm glad to see he's expanding his range, and producing actual transverse sweet potatoes. |
