Poor excuse for an ocarina-player.
Okay, I ran a Yahoo search and found the Clayzeness page for the Ocarina Sprite Commercial: http://www.clayz.com/notes.html

Much appreciated. Added: Yablo: Master of the Ocarina!

Edit: If anyone knows where I can find Mr. Roger's Nieghborhood Episode 429, I would be grateful for a link!

Insomnia and TCM has paid off again as I watch a scene from Thousands Cheer (1943) where a reprised "I Dug a Ditch" by Kathryn Grayson (and mens chorus) features a brief look at some large ocarinas played by service men as they walk her home. I have yet to find footage of it, and not much footage at all outside of the infamous USO show.

I appreciate what you're doing here, Moon, but I hate sitting through videos that include details that could just be put in the video description.

I'd rather the video just include the video, not extra details I can glance over while watching the actual video, rather than stare for 15 seconds wiating for the video to begin.

Many of the clips are cut down from hour long episodes or movie segments.
I don't think that a few seconds is too much to wait through compared to that.

;)

Just wait until I finish the Lexx video. it takes parts from several hour long episodes
(as soon as I find one more episode. SO close...)

That's really beside the point.

It's a matter of practicality to me; The video info is there on the side, ready to be read if I care to know any details. Including them in the actual video before anything has actually begun is kind of annoying and a waste of youtube features.

Example; For my duet video I just included some annotations that popped up during the video without really getting in the way, and it directed people to the guy who helped me make the video without dragging out the time of the video itself.

If you just like including a little intro to the start of every video, that's your call, I'm just sharing my point of view with you here. =P

I appreciate your opinion. I started doing these before youtube had that feature. While annotation is neat in some videos, it has been annoying in others. I guess everything in moderation.

I admit that I did not design these with the idea that someone would watch all of them together at one time. I thought people would pick and choose clips that they have not heard of or seen only, and members will be viewing only the new ones as they are added. I can imagine watching them all at once could be repetitive. It is not how I imagined the list to be used.

I hoped that people would stumble across the set while looking for one topic on youtube, and discover ocarinas and the TON in the process.

Actually when I was trying to make an ocarina my dad was watching Penelope and I saw that part and was thinking "No way, is that an ocarina...?"

And what do you know? It is!

And I remember seeing that Doug episode a million years ago. Skeeter made it out of a stale cafeteria roll if I remember right.

I remembered one! An RPG game I played a long time ago called "Evolution Worlds" has a character named Linear who plays the ocarina. I remember a few cut scenes in the game featuring it, but couldn't find any. I do, however, have this screenshot of her using it during a battle. I think she was able to play songs to inflict negative status effects on enemies.

Spoiler: click to toggle

EDIT: Okay, I read a little about the game. Like I said it's been a while since I played it. The main character, Mag Launcher, played the ocarina for her and taught her how. She then played on her own and became very good at it. In the game she's the designated healer in the group. The game Evolution Worlds is a remake/port of Evolution 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast. They were put together into Worlds on the Gamecube and it came out in late 2002. As I remember it's a relatively fun RPG with interesting battle elements but really boring dungeons that basically consist of running around labrynthical mazes.

Here's a LINK to some footage of the gameplay. Linear uses the ocarina in battle in 2:38 to 2:44.

Looks like a wooden sweet potato transverse.

I'm not certain if anyone have mentioned it yet, but in the RPG Growlanser II: A Sense of Justice, the main character, Wein, plays an ocarina that was given to him by someone he met in his childhood. It was a really nice tune and I wish I could find the sheet music for it.

I remember seeing the Ocarina in the Addams family one! He plays the theme too. That'd be fun to play.

My friend found this. http://www.ronkorb.com/ron.frameset.html

The site is of a man who travles the world playing flutes and other exotic wind instraments. One of which is a Chilean Ocarina. There's a small sound sample of it here;

This scene from the 1932 cult classic Freaks has the mood set by the menacing music of the ocarina. The scene depicts sideshow performers protecting one of thier own from his money grubbing wife who is trying to poison him. The content of the movie was so shocking at the time that it had to be edited heavily, and banned in the UK for over 30 years. Enjoy!

Here's Eleanor Powell performing with The Foursome.
Usually uncredited in western films like Go West, Young Lady,
Foursome is a great example of an ocarina quartet.

and again in Girl Crazy with Judy Garland.

Clip of Spencer Register on 700 club, talking about his ocarina experience, and shows him making and playing them.

Also, I don't know if this constitutes as "media" but here's a clip of a popular 1930's band with an ocarina in it.

I wanna bring up again that bleach episodes 129-131 have ocarinas in them as well as 128.

See ya! :D

1 last thing, I've found a bunch of new's articles that talk about ocarinas. Should I post them?

Wow Judy Garland! That's a big name. Although I thought they would play their ocs more than sing... Nice chaps though, Real stylin! lol

Oh and holy smokes it's Spencer! I've never seen him before, I thought he would be a lot older for some reason... Man I wonder what's going on with that store he's planning on opening. I would definately buy one of his ocs even if I had to use up the last of my cash to do it.
